Sector: Fintech / Merchant Acquiring

Product: Finaworx POS Onboarding Automation

1. The Context: The Time-to-Market Gap

In the competitive Merchant Acquiring market, speed is the only differentiator. However, the client’s onboarding process for new merchants and POS terminals was an operational slog. The process involved huge manual data entry activities across disjointed systems. Data was stored in unstructured formats, making validation impossible. This resulted in:

  • High rates of human error and data inaccuracy.

  • Operational inefficiency and high costs.

  • Frustrated merchants waiting days for terminal activation.

2. The Intervention: Zero-Touch Automation

MTS engineered a POS Onboarding Automation framework designed to remove human hands from the data flow. The solution treats onboarding not as a “task” but as a data pipeline.

  • The Pipeline: The system integrates directly with external request sources (like Jira). A “Template Parser” extracts merchant data automatically.

  • Intelligent Validation: Before any data touches the core banking system, it passes through an AI Validation Layer. This performs smart, rule-based checks to ensure data completeness and integrity.

  • Middleware Orchestration: If the data passes validation, the system uses middleware to call OMS (Order Management System) APIs directly, pushing the approved profile into the Central Management System (CMS) without manual re-entry.

3. The Impact: Velocity and Integrity

The transformation streamlined the merchant lifecycle, converting a high-friction administrative burden into a competitive advantage.

  • Velocity: Faster time-to-market for new merchants, allowing them to start transacting (and generating revenue for the bank) almost immediately.
  • Accuracy: The elimination of manual entry reduced human error to near zero, enhancing overall data integrity.
  • Visibility: Management gained real-time visibility into the onboarding funnel, with automatic notifications for any failures or delays.
